The Church of God in Cromer
Chesterfield Hall, Cabbell Road
The Church which meets at Chesterfield Hall is one of a group of evangelical, Bible based churches, established and growing in many parts of the world, all holding the same beliefs and sharing a common purpose and practices.
The Church of God in Cromer was formed in 1894 and has been active ever since. For around 50 years until its rebuilding in 2001 the church met in a much older building on the present site in Cabbell Road, Cromer.
This website will tell you all about us but there is nothing like coming to our Sunday Family Service / Children's Sunday Club to experience what excellent singing (by the congregation, not a choir) and a friendly welcome, is like.
Whether you are a visitor or a Cromer resident you will be very welcome.
Thought for the Month
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6: 23)
There is a lot of media coverage at the moment on the subject of pay, particularly the salaries and bonuses of the leaders of large institutions and banks. Are they worth it? And do they earn it? seem to be the usual questions demanding an answer. "A fair day's pay for a fair day's work" used to be the common saying, in other words you deserve to be paid a fair reward for the work that you do. That is fair isn't it?
God tells us that there is a wage for sin, and that is death. He also tells us that we all do wrong (sin) and so we get paid accordingly, that too by our own standards is also fair. However God goes on to offer us a free gift of something which we haven't earned. Through the death of Jesus Christ we are offered the gift of forgiveness for our sin and eternal life. It's available to everyone. So all of us are offered a bonus of something we have not earned. But we all have to make up our minds as what to do with it. We can accept it or reject it, but remember, if we choose to reject the gift, we take the wage instead.
